What I've been working on this week...

Another week, lots of sewing and my first market - phew!

It has been a very busy sewing week, with lots of leather, foiling and felt. Here's a snapshot of what I've been working on...

I'd love to know what you think so drop me a mail on here or on Facebook (Stephanie Deaves) with any thoughts.

Super soft cobalt leather and denim clutch with bright orange peacock print lining.

This is one of my favourite pieces ...I might have to make myself one!

Soft and drapey bright yellow leather tote with zipper pocket inside,  sturdy woven base and saddle leather handles.

Metallic and turquoise linen. Perfect shopper size ...and tres chic!

I was going for urban cool with this one...

Another of my favourites. Super super soft parchment leather skin and denim.

I added a pop of colour with the turquoise lining.

Linen and metallic tote. This one goes with everything!

Love this fabric. It's quite stiff, with metallic pink and turquoise crossweave.

You can never have too many zipper wallets. All the felt is hand foiled by me, of course!

Perfect mini iPad size

Super cool mini iPad case.

I have business cards, stamps and tags!!!

I used grunge paper for the tags and punched eyelets for the twine.

The logo on my business cards reads Stephanie in Arabic script. It was originally a necklace that I had made for me, here in Dubai, and the lovely Reesha (my graphic designer of choice! Read on to find out more about her) helped me (did all the work) digitize the design.  She also had custom stamps made for me. I love the stamps so much and am currently stamping anything in sight!

How fab are these?!

Packaging is everything!

Neon tags from INKKIT

I have business cards!

I will soon be selling my wares (photos coming soon!) at Ripe market and so I'll be continuing to stamp and tag like crazy for the next couple of weeks!

Now I just have to fill the bags...

And all this is thanks to the wonderful Reesha of Pret-a-papier! Reesha is a graphic designer and owner of  Pret-a-papier, which offers custom party printables and event stationery. She is extremely creative and knows what she's talking about. With a few words from you, she can envision exactly what you are looking for. ...and I couldn't have done any of this without her so, thanks, Reesha!

Visit Reesha's blog here to find out more about what she offers.

Today I made...a dress!

A dress in a day ...not bad!

I bought this gorgeous Liberty print fabric ('Manning D' Tana Lawn) a couple of months ago and it has been sitting on my shelf willing me to use it ever since. Then I found a pretty Rebecca Taylor for Vogue dress pattern the other day and decided the two should meet!

Bringing the mountains to the desert!

The Tana Lawn drapes so nicely and the splash of turquoise on the cap sleeves brightens it up a bit.

The dress has an elasticated waistband.

If only all dresses were as quick to make as this one...my wardrobe would be bursting!

Finished 'Tilt-a-Whirl' quilt top!

Here's a little peek at a quilt I'm working on. It's done with paper piecing (remind me never to do that again!). I originally wanted it to be double the size it is now but I'm giving up! It's about single bed size ..which is big enough when paper piecing is involved!

The pattern is a free download from Fresh Lemon Quilts. Visit the blog for more tantalising quilting inspiration!

I love the secondary pattern you get when you join the blocks together. It almost looks like broken glass. I also love this fabric collection. It's 'Bazaar Style' by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery Fabrics.

I've chosen a deep turquoise linen for the back and binding and the plan is to stitch in ALL the ditches ...photos of the finished quilt to follow...
